Keeping Lacey Secret
Cameron doesn’t speak of his sister to anyone. Only his personal staff even have an inkling. Cameron has a reputation, you know, for being a Hollywood heartbreaker and he’s had his share of scandals. He is all his sister has left. All of his resources go to keeping Lacey kept away from the endless press people hounding him.
Julian and Clark know, because Cameron trusts them to never speak of it to any one. He told them, because he was once away and couldn’t get to Lacey at once when something went amiss in the hospital. Julian and Clark were the ones who went in to make sure Lacey was safe until Cameron could get there.
Rushing to Lacey
Cameron does this thing that gets him in trouble because no one knows: The moment he gets a call from the oncologist about Lacey, no matter where he is, no matter what he's doing, he will drop it and leave.
Even if he was in the middle of a shoot. It was very difficult to find excuses at first. But once Julian and Clark were in on the secret, they were able to cover for him. It gets kind of funny. One time, Cameron had to go--Lacey was vomiting and scared and he had to go.
So Julian threw a huge, massive diva fit in the middle of shooting and locked himself up in his trailer. The entire crew was sufficiently distressed enough to let Cameron going off slide while they tried to pacify our kitten.
Pike Family Curse
Cameron believes that the Pike family is a little cursed with unfortunate incidents. That you have to work hard if you want to have good things happen. His father was killed with a grenade in a hostile territory. His mother died giving birth to Lacey. He stood in the nursery, staring down at his little tiny, newborn baby sister, and he swore he'd do everything to make sure she was safe and happy.
Cameron worked and studied throughout his life, mostly to give Lacey as good a life as he can provide, even before they discovered she had cancer. So when an agent approached him and asked if he wanted to do some modeling (he was good looking enough to be spotted even while serving ice cream someplace), he went for it. Hey, it was money, it could help. And then he started to get into acting and again, he only did it the first time to provide for his sister.
Then the news about the cancer happened. Cameron thinks that his family may be a little cursed with bad luck. And he fought every day against his misfortunes. So I wonder now, what he thinks, as he sits next Julian's bed, and watches one of his first and closest friends sleeping off the damage done by stalker.
Lacey Coming Home
Cameron build a big room for Lacey in his loft for when he took her home. He hired a nurse to be with her at all times. Lacey's room is appallingly purple. She likes pink, but she likes purple more. It's purple everything. Cameron used this entire season's royalties. He says it's worth every cent. Now he can spend more time with her.
Cameron picked Lacey up, "Come on, pretty girl. Time to bring you home." then put her gently into the wheelchair. She was excited. Cam's got more plainclothes security out there than Obama does. He's really keeping this under wraps. Their van's got tinted windows and everything.
When they got near the doors, Cameron carefully slips on sunglasses and bundles Lacey into a silvery cloak, telling her it was an invisibility cloak. Lacey giggled, "I'm invisible now!" Cameron picked her up and tucked he against him, "Are we ready?" His security nodded and they slipped out the doors to the car --the door slams shut and the entire convoy leaves.
Lacey peake out, "Can I be visible now?" Cam smiled, "Sure can. You're safe now, pretty girl. Taking you home." "But I still go back sometimes, right? For treatment?" "Well yeah, but...at least now you get to stay home with me, right?" Lacey hugged him, "Uh huh."
Personal Life Facts
Once upon a time, a script reading for Blackwater was scheduled. In a show of camaraderie, Haven showed up with Corey, and Cam and Tasha went with Nathan. In a brief intermission, they all decided to hit a nearby supermarket to get snacks and hang out and talk. And the supermarket got held up. By a lot of armed people. And the police came quickly when all the handlers freaked out. And so now they and all the other shoppers are held hostage. Although once they found out they had tv/rock stars in the market, they decided to go for ransom. So far media doesn't know who's in there, which is a blessing.
The dudes in the mask have got all the important people sitting and pressed up to the chillers for the drinks near the back part of the store. At least they're all together. Sinclair wasn't scared at all. They'd been in there for three hours. Tasha's crying, though. Cameron's got her, though. They're planning on doing something, which I strongly discourage them from doing when their enemies have AKs. Rave, Cor, and Sinny are just not ready to take this sitting down. Clark's talking to them. He's asking if they would let the civilians go. Because compared to them, they're not really worth anything. Nathan got taken to the bathroom. Mikey asked if they can please at least let the old people go.
He was gesturing to an old lady that fell over, can he please help her. The armed men have the place locked up pretty tight. They don't actually have any explosives, but they told police they do, so they can't really do anything until SWAT comes. Nathan doesn't look much changed, but he's tapping his nail on the wall behind him. Corey can read morse code, they're "talking". "Swat is outside." There's a tiny window in the bathroom, an officer sighted him. Guess that means help is on the way. Something called the two guys away, they're talking to another dude. Cameron looked at Nathan and mouthed "Swat?" and Nathan replied "Smoke bombs." Raven nodded to Cameron to grab Tasha, and Clark whispered "The smoke hits... we all get down.." Sinclair then asked Nathan if there was guns, and Nathan nodded.
Cameron eyed the exits and noted to the others they were to go that way, although they were worried if it was safe or not. Raven then said it was their only shot. A flash grenade exploded and they boys all got up and ran, scattering around the shelves. Guns went off and Sinclair and Corey hit the racks. Clark and Raven hid together amongst the ice-cream coolers. Nathan and Michael hid in the medicine racks. When Sinclair screamed at everyone to run, Cameron and Corey ran amongst the civilians and pulled them up with them. They also helped Natasha who was crying. Sinclair ran and grabbed a little girl and her mother off the ground.
As the smoke thickened and more gunshots ran out, the boys and the civilians began running outside. Tasha ran right into the SWAT's arms, followed closely by Michael. Sinclair came out the girl and her mother, followed by Raven and Clark who were pulling other people out with them. Nathan came out, supporting Cameron who was limping, and Corey who dove out just before more shots were fired. Tasha had a shock blanket, but none of the boys wanted any. Cameron said there was no way he was getting snuffed in there because then no one would take care of Lacey and that wasn't happening in his book.
Rave, Cor and Sinny think they're too experienced in mayhem to fall in this one. Clarkie and Nathan are just too headstrong. Michael said he just wasn't scared. Because he's seen it before (the other side, he meant) and he knows he's not going back there for a while. Cameron's most usual vehicle is a Lamborghini.
All boys and some girls had a jousting competition. Everyone rode a horse, and used an eleven-foot log to try and knock off their opponents. Cameron is jousting for House of Something Damaged. He dressed in armor that was taken from a Hollywood prop storage area. Cameron was second to compete, and he was facing Bailey from Stuart. Cameron was worried about killing Bailey.
When the flag dropped, they rode forward and Cameron’s lance struck Bailey’s chest, while Bailey’s lance, collided with Cameron’s lance. Cameron was nearly flung off balance but stayed on his horse, wincing. Bailey was unable to keep going so Cameron won his round. In round two, Cameron was facing off against Milo from Stuart. When the flag dropped, Milo drove his weapon so powerfully into Cameron’s shield that he got thrown back, and Cameron’s lance shattered into Milo’s chest, sending him backwards. Cameron screamed out in pain, clutching the reins but his shield arm flopping useless at his side.
When he got back to his side, he fell off his horse and the others rushed over. His shoulder was dislocated and he was panicking. Cameron was thinking about going on again, but everyone was begging him not to. After a moment, he said he withdrew so Milo won that round.
He plays Wyatt Porter in Something Damaged.
Cameron's status as a playboy who can't stick to one girl gets him bad press.
Behind The Scenes
On the screen: time - 4:30am -- cameras are showing the SD cast waking up in their hotel rooms, looking groggy. Isabel plods by in a robe and a cup of coffee, she waves; it cuts to Cameron who's already inhaling his own coffee and looking at lines. Alicia runs by, hair wrapped up in a towel. Nathan, with bed hair, peeks out of his hotel room, blinks blearily and waves, then vanishes again. Natasha squeals and pushes at the camera as she ducks behind her door.
In Julian's room, Julian is STILL asleep, a music box lullaby BGM in effect. Clark is knocking at Julian's door, still groggy, "Wake up, J, come on!" Inside, Julian covers his head with a pillow and doesn't move. Clark knocks again, "Come on, J, up!" He laughs hoarsely a little and plods back to his room. Fast forward--the cast is shown trudging into hair and makeup, looking slightly more alive than they did earlier. Patrick is asleep in the makeup chair, his hair being blown out.
Cameron grabs one of the cameras "See that?" He aims it outside--to an insane amount of snow. "We're filming in that. THAT." He laughs. Marcie is huddled in her makeup chair wrapped in thick blankets, grumbling. Nathan peeks at the camera, grinning, whispers. "Not a snow person." He points at her, then laughs and vanishes.
Camera cuts to Julian, who is sneaking up behind Natasha, standing outside. He says "shh" to the camera--and proceeds to dive at her. They both hit the snow, Nathasha shrieking. Julian gets up and goes running--passes Clark and Cameron screaming "Run!! Run!!" The three of them run as Natasha flings snow at them, flushed and furious and covered in snow. Alicia is laughing, "Damn it, J! Now Tasha's got to go back to wardrobe!!"
Cut to the scene, where Clark and Nathan are half dressed, explaining the number of costume changes they'll have for today. Cut to outside, Julian, fully dressed get tackled into the snow by Patrick, the two of them laughing hysterically. Marcie stands at a safe distance from the snowbank, telling them to cut it out. Cameron and Isabel are shown looking at scripts and throwing lines at each other, wrapped very thickly in clothes.
Filming begins, and it becomes obvious in a succession of clips that it was one of those days for Cameron. "I--" He pauses "...I..." Isabel starts laughing and he throws snow at her. "Shut up!" But he's laughing. Isabel then laughs off camera "You can do it!" Julian also yells from a distance, "I need you to let me do this!" In the next scene, Cameron flubs his fifth line of the day. He then manages to knock over just about every prop on the table and then forgets his lines.
Marcie is falling off the table laughing. Patrick laughs and says "Yeah, we lost her. Come on, Cam!! Where's your head?!" Cameron replies "I'm defective in snow!" before Julian yells back, "My hotel, my rules!" Though in the next scene, it's Nathan who flubs his lines. Julian watches as Nathan's expression went blank, realizes the scene is lost, before encouraging him to speak. Nathan laughs and says "I can't--! I don't know the line, okay?!" Julian grinned and said "It's "Lisa's had her share of accidental accidents."" before Nathan replied sarcastically with, "Yes, thank you, J..."
Next clip was sudden--Clark walks into a glass door and cracks it. The cast ooh'ed in half horror, half laughter. Clark was holding the bridge of his nose while the crew fussed around him. "I'm fine! I'm okay!" He began to laugh. Isabel asked him if he is okay, and Clark waved it away, saying that he was fine, to do the scene one more time. Alicia laughs and says "Without the door this time, Clarkie!"
The scene cuts to a scene where Julian is supposed to be making out with Isabel, whose clothes were already being shed but wearing fur mittens. Julian stops abruptly as Isabel has he hands on his face, coughing in laughing. "Izzy!" "What?!" "You got fur in my mouth!" Which made everyone burst out laughing. "Sorry!" Isabel laughed.
Watching back home, Derek fell off the couch because he was laughing so hard, and Logan was covering his face while shaking with laughter.
In the meantime, Cameron flubbed his sixth line, which had him banging his head on the dinner table. Clark called time out, while Marcie called out that it was a record. Cameron wondered what was wrong with him. Next clip showed a montage of every slip and fall the cast had that day. Patrick slipped the most out of the boys, but the girls and their heels were making it worse for the girls.
I Get That A Lot
Cameron Pike showed up in "I Get That A Lot". He was a Starbucks barista. THAT WAS SUCH A BAD IDEA. It was interesting at first. I mean, before he was a big star, he did odd jobs to make money and he did use to be a barista. So he was able to do the job very easily and well, like he'd done it a bazillion times before. The one thing had to make sure not to do was smirk.
It's like Julian's smile--when Cam Pike smirks at you all Wyatt-style, the game is over. So there he was the bored, let-me-just-take-your-order-and-get-that-to-you barista. There were quite a lot of very very intent stares, especially from the women who went to buy things.
It took about twelve girls doing that before someone finally said that whole "you look like Cameron Pike" thing and he sort of rolls his eyes, sighs, "Yeah, apparently." It went on like that and girls were running out the store or texting friends and telling them to come get a look at this guy because he looks exactly like Cam Pike and it didn't take too long before the entire store was critical mass.
I don't know who thought it was a bright idea to get Cam for this, but it sure didn't work that well. When the reveal finally happened, there was actual stampede risk. It was his disposition (bored, disinterested, not energetic) that allowed the ruse to go on as long as it did.
When Isabel mentioned that she missed Julian, Marcie told her that he'd be okay, that he was a tough kid. Natasha replied, "He is in a coma, Marce." to which she replied, "Did I say he wasn't? Think positively. Can't be negative on these things." then they mentioned that they hadn't seen Nathan recently.
Patrick explained, "We've all been doing individual stuff during hiatus, it's not really strange." Clark, "Well I came back from Ohio, at least Ms. Dolce isn't keeping people away...much..." Cameron: "I heard Travis Armstrong is due to be shooting in Africa again. Is he just going to go...?" to which Clark replied that he didn't know. The cast was then asked how they've been, and Alicia replied they been good-ish.
